The Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x56 scope is possibly one of the most versatile from Leupold, since with a minimum range of 3x magnification, it provides a wide field of view to facilitate the location of prey, while with the 15x, there is enough magnification for the most distant shots, a situation that can occur in stalking mode.
It is a viewfinder that is distinguished by the use of excellent quality lenses, it has the “High Definition” (HD) characteristic. It has "Twilight Max Light Management System" technology, an aspect that offers the hunter an advantage in the busiest hours of certain prey, especially at dawn and dusk. For example, in the case of roe deer, it is known that it is the twilight moments, where there are the greatest opportunities to kill. At those hours the light conditions are precarious, only quality lenses, such as the VX-5HD, are capable of providing defined, sharp and bright images. The manufacturer ensures that this scope provides 30 more minutes of hunting at dusk and dawn compared to other lenses of the competition.
It is a particularly robust visor, it is built in a 6061-T6 aeronautical aluminum body. The VX-5HD is waterproof and resistant to fog, it also has the Guard-Ion lens coating, this last treatment, consists of an "ion bombardment of the molecular structure of the lens". Resulting in exterior lenses that repel water, dirt and fingerprints very well.
It has a generous eye relief and eyebox, a feature that makes it easy to find a comfortable shooting position quickly.
The reticle features the "FireDot 4 Fine" model, which is especially popular because it has a red dot in the center of the crosshair and is designed to help aim in extremely low light conditions. For example, this reticle is ideal for shooting a furry animal in very dark color when lighting is poor, a circumstance where it can be very difficult to find your point of view. If we adjust the reticle a series of MOAs, through the turrets, this correction is reflected exactly at the point of impact. The low profile turrets are graduated in ¼ MOA per click, this supposes a correction of 7 mm for each one of them at 100 m. The drift turret has a protective cover, something to be appreciated, inasmuch as it is usually always the most exposed to unintended changes, due to friction and accidental blows. The side parallax turret is also very easy to use.
The turrets are big enough to be used by people with normal-sized hands, but they are not so big that they get in the way.
This visor has a ZeroLock custom marking system (CDS-ZL2). The buyer has included a custom screen printed turret neck, according to the cartridge specifications provided by the buyer in a standardized form. In this way, once the distance is known, it will only be necessary to mark it on the turret.
