Apeks regulator MTX-R

The Apeks MTX-R regulator has been designed to respond to the military requirements of the NEDU (Navy Experimental Dive Unit) for immersion in very cold waters and conditions of all kinds. A virtually indestructible, robust controller with unrivaled reliability and simple and efficient operation. The MTX-R is based on the MTX military regulator and has a sturdy, robust and high performance construction, a regulator for all types of conditions. The MTX-R has an excellent performance in cold water and offers a considerable reduction in the risk of continuous flow. This has been achieved by improving several areas, including an innovative solution that consists of a final cover that solves an old problem for divers in cold waters such as the freezing of the first stage.

1st stage:

• The manual DIN wheel or the manual knob of the oversized stirrup, both with a simple grip, only require one hand for its operation.
• Available in the DIN version, stirrup (INT) and thread M26, with pressures of 300, 232 and M26 300 bar, respectively.
• Medium pressure connection ports 5 x 3/8 "UNF (Unified National Fine).
• High-pressure connection ports 2 x 7/16 "UNF (Unified National Fine).
• The 5th 3/8 "UNF medium pressure connection port includes a protective bumper when not in use.
• Body of the first stage forged with ribs for heat exchange, for maximum thermal performance.
• HP port at an angle for optimal routing of the hose and transmitters.
• Rotating forged turret with medium pressure ports in parallel direction for better orientation of the hose.
• Support membrane with ribs for better heat exchange in cold water.
• Hose with double twist for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
• Certified for use with octopus, EN250A up to 60 meters in cold water.
• Compatible with Nitrox / Oxygen: up to 40% O2 outside the EU (European Union). Within the EU, as long as the O2 level exceeds 21%, an M26 connection must be used.

2nd stage:

• Simple to use, without immersion adjustment controls and less chance of free flow, with breakage effort or venturi control configurable by a qualified and authorized by Apeks technician.
• High performance seat valve, with pneumatic balancing and manual operation.
• Large purge button, easy to use.
• The front cover with oversized elastomer incorporates a chromed brass plate that improves the durability of the second stage.
• Large elastomer protectors on the side and top to protect the second stage from impacts and scratches in the most vulnerable areas.
• Second reversible stage for a gas supply configuration on the left or on the right.
• Heat exchanger (patented) that surrounds the mechanism of the valve to eliminate the cold caused by the expansion of the gas while providing the warmth of the surrounding water.
• It has an innovative variable exhalation system (DCE). The system allows the diver to have the ability to change from a small baffle to a larger one. The regulator is supplied with both sets of deflectors.
• Comfo-biteTM nozzle
• The nylon flexible hose has a higher performance in cold water than the traditional rubber hose.

El regulador es sin duda, una de las partes más importantes del equipo, conviene saber los cuidados que merece:

• Aclararlo con agua dulce después de cada uso: para lo cual primeramente comprobaremos que el tapón de la conexión a la botella está correctamente colocado.
• Guardarlo a la sombra y no lo expongas a altas temperaturas.
• Poner especial cuidado en que ningún tubo se doble a la fuerza.
• Ponerlo en manos de técnicos especialistas para revisiones periódicas.
• Para su transporte, guárdalo separado del resto del equipo y con sumo cuidado.
• Nunca coger las botellas por el regulador (ni en el agua).
