Attaching a GPS receiver to a dog collar is very simple. The difficulty arises when we want to send the position coordinates of the collar to the device that we have in our hands.
To send these coordinates we can use mobile telephony or radio waves: mobile telephony for this kind of products is not useful because in the mountains where it is used there is no coverage. Therefore the sending of coordinates must be done with radio waves. The problem we have with this system is that throughout Europe the power allowed for this type of product is very limited, so the radio signal with the coordinates only reaches about 5 or 7 km. In difficult situations for the GPS (the dog is in a closed forest with rain or has gone into a cave) or if it is too far away, Radiotracking works perfectly up to 20 km. When the dog is at a distance of less than 7 or 5 km, the receiver warns that the GPS has been automatically activated, marks the point where the dog is, the direction (with an arrow) and the distance. You can obtain the route you are traveling, etc. It is also compatible with your old locator collars of any brand.
