LENGTH
The size or length of the rod is one of the most important factors. Choose a rod whose length allows you to maneuver and cast your rig or lure with ease.
There’s nothing worse than fishing with a rod that’s the wrong size for you—whether it’s too big or too small— since the only thing you’ll end up with are botched casts that won’t yield any results.
STRENGTH
That is, the rod’s ability to withstand the fight with the fish.
We must not fall into the trap of thinking that the strongest rod is the best. A rod’s strength is not a characteristic that indicates quality, but rather a fundamental property of the rod itself; in other words, the rod must simply withstand the stress it was designed for; if it did not, it would be useless.

THE “MEMORY” OF A ROD
A rod’s natural shape is straight; however, the fishing action involves constant bending. When bent, the rod offers resistance equal to the applied force but in the opposite direction—that is, a reaction.
The speed at which it returns to its previous state is what is commonly referred to as the rod’s reaction or “memory.”
The rod must have the proper reaction or memory so that the angler does not lose the feel of the fish, can cast satisfactorily, or can set the hook if necessary.
ACTION
The maximum weight the rod can withstand at the moment of casting. It is expressed in grams, usually as two numbers, which indicate the weight range the rod can handle without difficulty.
Each rod is designed for a specific type of fishing, based on which the level of flex it can achieve and the maximum stress it can withstand are determined.
In this regard, there are three distinct phases in the cast:

If there’s one thing to highlight about fiberglass, it’s that it requires virtually no maintenance.
