Savage 110 Long Range Hunter Bolt Action Rifle
From the prestigious Savage brand and from the 110 series created in 1958. These rifles are emblematic for their reliability and accuracy in the various derivative models. In particular, the Long Range Hunter is a long range hunting rifle that can have a great sporting performance.
It employs an improved variant of the Accustock system. A feature that makes a difference in exceptional accuracy, with a full-length aluminum bed that ensures the seating of the action in the stock in three dimensions along its entire length. Accompanying the aluminum bed is a gray fiber stock employing the AccuFit system, which allows shooters to quickly adjust cheekpiece height and stock length. In addition, the stock is especially rigid and does not flex at the end of the stock on chance rests.
It includes an injection-molded synthetic stock with textured areas on both the handguard and the pistol grip. It provides a very comfortable and soft grip and integrates the AccuFit system, which allows users to modify the length of the stock (4 different spacers) and the height of the cheekpiece (up to 5 different cheekpieces). The stock is topped by a butt pad made of a nice, thick, soft rubbery material that effectively absorbs the recoil of the most powerful calibers. It is therefore not surprising that the comfort and good fit of the shooter to the weapon are its hallmarks. This model uses a Magpul 5-round magazine that follows the AICS standard.
The barrel, with a heavy 660mm contour made of carbon steel, isa long barrel that takes full advantage of the gases produced by the cartridge and reaches the maximum firing distance. A characteristic feature of SAVAGE barrels is their consistent accuracy, the result, according to the manufacturer, of his experienced button-rifled barrels, of which he is a recognized expert.
The caliber of this model is 338 Lapua Mag.he barrel ends at its end in a fixed muzzle brake, which can be activated or deactivated at will. The outer jacket rotates over the muzzle brake and aligns with the magnificent eight rows of three-hole eight rows of three 0.35 mm (0.014) holes to allow gases to escape, plugging and unplugging them. It simply requires a slight displacement without the need for tools, signaled by a click in both positions.
As for the action, this is the standard one of the 110 series models. Characterized by its great precision, it incorporates atwo-bolt bolt with a floating head that allows the lock to rest evenly in the recess of the action and the bolt face to have full contact with the entire cartridge head.
The trigger is the famous Accutrigger, which allows weight regulationfrom 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg) to 6 lbs (2.72 kg). The trigger is safety-locked and complements the three-position manual safety. This same trigger is used on competition rifles. An exceptional rifle with which it is easy to obtain five-shot groups close to half MOA with quality commercial ammunition.

When the word Rifle is used, anyone, including a non-expert, evokes a classic Mauser bolt-action rifle of military type. We could say that it is the current rifle par excellence, it is the most used in any hunting modality, the most universal for its variety of calibers, weights, sizes, finishes, applications, manufacturers and prices.
It is a repeating rifle, that is to say a rifle that allows repeating the shot whose action consists of a bolt that, manually operated by a rotation and thrust movement, captures the cartridge from the magazine and introduces it into the chamber "locking it" (closing it), arms the punch or needle, to subsequently allow the shot to be fired.
The mechanism of the bolt can be variable, currently there are bolts with axial action without apparent rotation. The ammunition magazine admits a variable number of cartridges, usually 5 for non-Magnum calibers and 3 or 4 for the latter. Some models allow the use of a detachable magazine.
Repetition should never be confused with automatism.
They are the most accurate rifles and the simplest to build.
In some models, barrels of different caliber can be interchanged, in which case the long action group (Magnum calibers) and the short action group (Magnum calibers) are compatible.
Advantages
- It is the most robust and reliable of all
- High ballistic accuracy (unmatched by other repeating systems)
- The extraction and reloading mechanisms provide total operational safety
- It is slow firing, making it difficult to shoot quickly and fluently
- It is too large for long days of hunting on foot
- The manual action of the bolt unholsters the weapon at each shot, which forces the hunter to retake the aiming elements and means a loss of time that can be crucial in the second shot
- BIG HUNTING RIFLE
Para the purchase of a rifle requires a copy of the ID card and LONG GUN RIFLE PERMIT (D).
