Savage 110 Ultralite Camo Bolt Action Rifle
The SAVAGE 110 ULTRALITE CAMO is another of the American manufacturer's references designed for mountain stalking, for those hunters who value a lightweight rifle for their physical conditions or simply for personal preferences. For this purpose, a basic model of the 110 series has been subjected to a slimming treatment using different techniques and technology.
This SAVAGE 110 ULTRALITE CAMO weighs 2.66 kg on the scales, compared, for example, to the 3.66 kg of a CLASSIC model. It is evident that this is a rifle of very contained weight and that a good job has been done to reduce it, which makes this rifle very comfortable to carry. In order to achieve this figure, several aspects of the rifle have been modified, the first and most innovative of which is the barrel. It is a stainless steel barrel wrapped in carbon fiber from Proof Research. These barrels are known for their consistency in groupings and accuracy. The carbon wrap allows the barrels to take advantage of the properties of a larger diameter barrel, while being much lighter and cooling faster than their steel counterpart. Using carbon fiber, the barrel weighs up to 64% less than the same in steel.
The length of the barrel varies depending on the cartridge used, ranging from 22 (559 mm) to 24 (610 mm). Whatever the length, the end of the barrel is threaded with a standardized 5/8 "x 24 thread pitch with thread cover, for those who want to install a muzzle brake or suppressor, in those places where the legislation allows it. Another feature on which special attention has been paid to weight reduction is the action. The standard Model 110 action is quite thick and robust. This has allowed SAVAGE engineers to remove quite a bit of material by milling techniques. This has changed the rounded shapes of the standard action, remember that it is machined from a round bar, to a straight-shaped, skeletonized-looking action.
As for its material and finish, it is made of stainless steel treated externally with melonite, which makes it particularly resistant to any inclement weather and scratches. The manufacturer indicates that, in order to improve precision, the actions on this model are adjusted by hand at the factory. In addition, for the mounting of the relevant scope, it should be noted that the action is drilled and tapped for mounts using the larger-than-standard 8-40 bolt size.
Also the bolt has been worked on reducing weight by means of a knurling seen on other models. There are eight deep grooves that are blackened to contrast with the polished body of the bolt. This technique collaterally reduces the friction of the bolt during operation, making it smoother to handle.
As we have discussed on other occasions, the action and its floating-head bolt ensure that it can self-center during locking, resting evenly in the recess of the action and causing the bolt face to have full contact with the entire cartridge head. The connection between the barrel and the action is made by means of a nut, a solution that may be questionable aesthetically for some users, but which technically allows a very precise headspace.
As for the rest of its features, let's start with the stock, which in a rifle with a reduced weight vocation is logically made of polymer. In this reference in KUIU Green 2.0 finish. In addition, it incorporates the AccuFit system, which allows users to customize the length of the stock and the height of the cheekpiece. For the former, four spacers of different sizes are provided; for the latter, there are five different cheeks. A flathead screwdriver is all that is needed to achieve the desired configuration.
All this is topped off with a soft butt pad with good recoil absorption. The stock has grooves and textures on the pistol grip and handguard that are placed just where the shooter's hands are usually placed to ensure a good grip. In this rifle, the removable magazine holds two to four cartridges, depending on the caliber used. It is made of polymer and metal and is flush with the ventral part of the stock. It has a built-in release latch that is really easy to operate.
The trigger is the ACCUTRIGER, one of the best standard triggers on the market, which is visually characterized by the safety tab showing the trigger. Its behavior is excellent, ultra-short travel and glass rod-like break. It provides a crisp shot, which is valid even for precision shooting. Due to the safety on the trigger tail, its behavior resembles a false two-stroke. In addition, it can be easily regulated by the user, in this case and for this model from 0.680 kg (1.5 pounds) to 1.81 kg (4 pounds).
The trigger safety is complemented by a manual safety located behind the action, thus ensuring ambidextrous access. This has three positions, safe position where bolt and trigger are locked; partially safe position, where the bolt can be operated, but the trigger is locked; and finally fire position, where bolt and trigger can be activated, in this last position there is a visual indication of a red dot. To say on the other hand, that it is quite silent, a particularly interesting feature from a hunting point of view.
In short, it is a very light, compact, well designed and well thought out rifle, which works as a good rifle for the most demanding stalking or for those who are looking for a comfortable and ergonomic rifle. Its novel carbon fiber wrapped barrel is accurate and consistent in groupings.

The procedures are very simple
- You can make the payment in any of the following ways
- Credit card.
- Bank transfer.
- VIP card (this option will also serve to finance your order).
- You will have to send us a photocopy of your ID card and the corresponding firearms permit depending on the type of weapon.

It is no secret to anyone who handles a firearm that dirt can be its worst enemy. Corrosion or the storage of foreign matter can hinder the operation of the weapon and, in the case of affecting the cartridges, cause accidents that can have serious consequences.

When the word Rifle is used, anyone, including a non-expert, evokes a classic Mauser bolt-action rifle of military type. We could say that it is the current rifle par excellence, it is the most used in any hunting modality, the most universal for its variety of calibers, weights, sizes, finishes, applications, manufacturers and prices.
It is a repeating rifle, that is to say a rifle that allows repeating the shot whose action consists of a bolt that, manually operated by a rotation and thrust movement, captures the cartridge from the magazine and introduces it into the chamber "locking it" (closing it), arms the punch or needle, to subsequently allow the shot to be fired.
The mechanism of the bolt can be variable, currently there are bolts with axial action without apparent rotation. The ammunition magazine admits a variable number of cartridges, usually 5 for non-Magnum calibers and 3 or 4 for the latter. Some models allow the use of a detachable magazine.
Repetition should never be confused with automatism.
They are the most accurate rifles and the simplest to build.
In some models, barrels of different caliber can be interchanged, in which case the long action group (Magnum calibers) and the short action group (Magnum calibers) are compatible.
Advantages
- It is the most robust and reliable of all
- High ballistic accuracy (unmatched by other repeating systems)
- The extraction and reloading mechanisms provide total operational safety
- It is slow firing, making it difficult to shoot quickly and fluently
- It is too large for long days of hunting on foot
- The manual action of the bolt unholsters the weapon at each shot, which forces the hunter to retake the aiming elements and means a loss of time that can be crucial in the second shot
- BIG HUNTING RIFLE
Para the purchase of a rifle requires a copy of the ID card and LONG GUN RIFLE PERMIT (D).
