Savage 110 Classic Bolt Action Rifle
The Classic model is a version of the legendary Savage 110 series. It incorporates current features and a classic look, such as the wood stock that offers a traditional look and timeless beauty. It manages to combine the customization of a polymer stock with the classic look of walnut. Fully adjustable, it fits any shooter. It features an oil finish that helps protect the gun and looks very elegant. The magazine is a removable metal box magazine with four cartridges (three for magnum calibers) and bolts for attaching the rings of the rifle belt.
This concept of the adaptable wooden stock is not new; it was popularized at the time with competition shotguns. Because the various sporting disciplines demand an exact fit of the gun. Decades ago, that required shooters to go through the difficult and costly process of adjusting the stock. The solution employed by this rifle is the fastest and most economical option.
The operation of the system is extremely simple and intuitive, by means of two simple buttons located on the right side of the stock we can vary the length of the stock and the height of the cheek piece. These allow the shooter to adjust the rifle to his morphology, both the height and the depth, allowing a variation of up to 1.5 (38 mm). The front knob controls the cheekpiece height and the rear knob controls the cheekpiece depth, both of which can be operated without taking your eyes off the target. The tension of both knobs is adjustable with a simple Allen key.
The 110 Classic weighs about 3.6 kg, which is fine for most types of hunting. The overall length of the standard calibers varies from 41.25 (1048 mm) to 42.75 (1086 mm), depending on the stock length adjustments we make.
As for the rest of the features, these are common to the SAVAGE 110 family. It has a carbon steel barrel with a sporting contour, with lengths of 22 (560 mm). All 110 Classic rifles come with the barrel threaded with a 9/16-28 thread pitch and include a metal thread protector. The rifling technique is button-rifling, in which SAVAGE has a great deal of experience, thus manufacturing high precision barrels.
With respect to the action, this is the classic one, machined from a round steel bar and with its well-known floating-head bolt. As we have mentioned in other models, it allows self-centering during locking, resting uniformly in the hollow of the action and making the bolt face have full contact with the entire head of the cartridge. This, together with the system of connection with the barrel by means of a nut, allows an exact headspace, which helps the rifle to have an excellent accuracy.
The AccuTrigger is the name given to the firing system that appeared in 2002 for SAVAGE rifles. It is characterized by its ultra-short travel and glass shafts. It has integrated safety in the trigger, which avoids accidental discharges by impact and makes its behavior simulate a two-stroke trigger. It is user-customizable in terms of weight, from 0.680 kg (1.5 pounds) to 2.72 kg (6 pounds). Moreover, it is complemented by a three-position manual safety, located behind the action and therefore with ambidextrous access.
The SAVAGE 110 CLASSIC is a variant of the 110 series for those who like classic rifles, but do not want to give up the ergonomics of more modern rifles. It is an all-terrain rifle that fits any hunting modality practiced in our country.

It is no secret to anyone who handles a firearm that dirt can be its worst enemy. Corrosion or the storage of foreign matter can hinder the operation of the weapon and, in the case of affecting the cartridges, cause accidents that can have serious consequences.

When the word Rifle is used, anyone, including a non-expert, evokes a classic Mauser bolt-action rifle of military type. We could say that it is the current rifle par excellence, it is the most used in any hunting modality, the most universal for its variety of calibers, weights, sizes, finishes, applications, manufacturers and prices.
It is a repeating rifle, that is to say a rifle that allows repeating the shot whose action consists of a bolt that, manually operated by a rotation and thrust movement, captures the cartridge from the magazine and introduces it into the chamber "locking it" (closing it), arms the punch or needle, to subsequently allow the shot to be fired.
The mechanism of the bolt can be variable, currently there are bolts with axial action without apparent rotation. The ammunition magazine admits a variable number of cartridges, usually 5 for non-Magnum calibers and 3 or 4 for the latter. Some models allow the use of a detachable magazine.
Repetition should never be confused with automatism.
They are the most accurate rifles and the simplest to build.
In some models, barrels of different caliber can be interchanged, in which case the long action group (Magnum calibers) and the short action group (Magnum calibers) are compatible.
Advantages
- It is the most robust and reliable of all
- High ballistic accuracy (unmatched by other repeating systems)
- The extraction and reloading mechanisms provide total operational safety
- It is slow firing, making it difficult to shoot quickly and fluently
- It is too large for long days of hunting on foot
- The manual action of the bolt unholsters the weapon at each shot, which forces the hunter to retake the aiming elements and means a loss of time that can be crucial in the second shot
