Semiautomatic Shotgun Mossberg 930 SPX Pistol Grip 8T - 12/76
Functionality and low price under the Mossberg brand. Gas-operated, it stands out for its reliability, balance and value for money. One of the best selling shotguns in its class in the USA.
Designed in North America for wetland duck hunting, this superb gun features improved anti-corrosion and anti-shock characteristics. The receiver is made of aluminum alloy, the bolt is boron-nitrided and the recoil spring is stainless steel. The bolt treatment extends to the sear, hammer, piston rings, recoil spring tube and spring plunger. Boron nitride also adds lubricity to all components to facilitate regular cleaning.
In relation to the dimensions, the barrel has a length of 710mm and the whole gun 1232mm. In terms of weight, it is a balanced and relatively light gun at 3520 grams, which allows for fast in-fire and quick follow-up shots.
The Hunting version is a gas-operated shotgun, equipped with a self-regulating system and dual evacuation of excess gases. The excess gases from the operating cycle exit through two windows, formed by two rows of V-shaped perforations on the barrel, without interfering in any way with the shooter.
Smooth operation and reliability. This allows for very fast repeat firing, essential in small game hunting and very valuable in the use of 76mm or magnum cartridges. Regarding safety, most shotguns competing in this segment incorporate the safety on the trigger guard or nearby. The Mossberg does it on the back of the grip, which enables it to be ambidextrous and achieve an advantage in fast situations. As a detail, it incorporates a small metal pin located on the inner face of the trigger guard in front of the trigger that projects toward the trigger finger when the gun is armed and therefore ready to fire.
The trigger assembly is very easy to access, the trigger cassette can be released by simply pulling out two black pins on the outside of the action walls. It offers a very useful padlock with a steel cable to secure the gun by passing it through its loading and ejection window.
The sight system offers a large sight plane thanks to the barrel having a 10mm wide ventilated sidelock. This has on its end a 15mm red fiber optic sight point very bright when capturing daylight, it is the so-called Tru-Bead of the prestigious TruGlo house. This makes it very easy to acquire when the weapon is loaded, which in the end results in the speed of the shot. In case we want to add an optic, the mechanism box is drilled and tapped for mounting mounts or a rail.
The stock is made of polymer with a straight pistol grip and no cheek piece with a contained vertical curvature. A perfect configuration for semi-automatic weapons. It offers a firm grip that prevents the hand from slipping and allows movement of the index finger. It allows some parameterization to suit different morphologies, as it has eight wedges that allow adjusting the drop of the stock. The stock is complemented by a black, soft, medium-sized butt pad that absorbs recoil significantly. It includes attachment points for a strap.
